Annual Action Plan Goals
 
Goals:
  1. To see a decrease in the number of students performing at a deficient level.
  2. To have all students achieving at the basic or higher level in all content area performance, giving evidence that they are reading to learn.
  3. To improve on the existing high level of achievement with increased standardized test scores and classroom performance.
  4. To adjust teaching strategies to focus on targeted weaknesses.
  5. To differentiate instruction in order to reach various student learning styles.
 
Strategies used effectively in 2007-2008 academic year to achieve goals:
  1. All students completed a summer workbook for review and reinforcement of critical skills. 
  2. Cornell Method note-taking is implemented in every grade level from graphic organizers through the actual note pages.
 
Strategies used effectively in 2008-2009 academic year to achieve goals:
  1. Differentiated instruction, small group work, ILA maintenance sheets, Cornell note-taking, illustration of vocabulary words for better retention by the students, listening skills to achieve a visual of what is read, rigor and relevance activities, higher-level thinking skills and increased use of writing activities.
